Your Child’s Admission to Our Nursery

To ensure we can provide the best possible care and support for your

child, it is important that we gather relevant information about your child and family

before offering a place at our centre. This helps us understand your child’s individual

needs and make any necessary arrangements to support their wellbeing, development, and smooth transition into our setting. We will ask you to share details such as your child’s medical needs, any additional support they may require, family background, and any circumstances you’d like us to be aware of. All information is treated with respect and sensitivity, and we are committed to making reasonable adjustments where needed to accommodate each child. In some cases, this may include working with other professionals such as health visitors, local support services, or our internal team of advisors.

As an Ofsted registered early years provider, we are legally bound to meet the requirements of the Ofsted regulations and the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework published by the Department for Education. If we are unable to offer a place immediately due to limited availability, your child will be placed on our waiting list. We will keep you regularly updated on current and upcoming availability. When allocating places, we follow a fair and consistent approach, which includes:

• Prioritising children who need to move to the next age group within the Nursery

• Giving priority to current families who wish to increase sessions or enrol siblings

• Offering places based on booking dates and expected start dates

• Reviewing the availability of funded places each term

• Considering exceptional circumstances that may affect a child’s welfare

What We Need from You

To begin the admissions process, we kindly ask all prospective families to complete an application form in full. This helps us gather the key information we need to support your child effectively and keep accurate records. If your child is eligible for government funding, we will also ask you to sign a Local Authority Parental Contract, which outlines the funded hours your child will be attending. Depending on the Nursery, a registration fee may also apply. To help your child settle in confidently, we recommend a few shorter introductory sessions before their official start date. These sessions allow your child to become familiar with the environment, staff, and daily routine, and we will work with you to schedule these at a convenient time. Before your child starts, we are required to take a copy of their birth certificate and photo identification for the legal parent or guardian. These documents are stored securely and only kept for as long as necessary, in line with our data protection policy.
